Violette was born in Perth, Western Australia,to Lebanese and Palestinian parents. Following her debut, lead role as The Captain in her Year Four musical, Violette began piano and singing lessons, as well as ten years of dance training in classical ballet, tap and jazz. Violette’s love for performance continued into high school, where it was complemented by a growing interest in visual art and literature.
Violette studied at Curtin University, where she was an active member of the Hayman Theatre Company, and spent the summer of 2012 in New York at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Upon returning to Australia, Violette performed in productions for WA Youth Theatre Company, WA Opera, Perth International Arts Festival, Perth Fringe Festival and The Blue Room Theatre. In 2014, her performance in the one-woman show My Father’s World won her the Fringe Emerging Artist Award.
Violette is a fluent Arabic speaker and this year was given the opportunity to explore traditional, Palestinian dance in Monkey Baa Theatre Company’s production of Where the Streets Had a Name.
