Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services
NIDA’s Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services produces capable and qualified individuals for various technical roles in live production. The 2016 cohort learnt through practical, hands-on experience and were taught by practising industry professionals in lighting, audio, vision and staging. Students were given opportunities to work on NIDA productions, where they collaborated with the Diplomas of Musical Theatre and Specialist Make-up students on their showcases, providing technical support in the areas of stage management, lighting, audio and vision.
The whole cohort engaged in a placement with Pinchgut Opera at the City Recital Hall, where they assisted in the bump in/out for the production of Theodora, as well as provided technical support throughout the season.
As part of their coursework, students completed individual projects offsite with organisations and venues including the Sydney Opera House, Opera Australia, Sydney Theatre Company, Bell Shakespeare, ATYP, Hayes Theatre and the City Recital Hall.
